Stadler wins VMS contract for Citylink tram-trains

Stadler will start supplying the three-section tram-trains in the summer of 2025.
The hydrogen-powered trainset is anticipated to enter passenger service in January 2024.
The contract also includes an option for a three-year extension until 2028.
Over the next five years, Stadler plans to deliver at least 113 vehicles of this kind.
The railway company intends to upgrade and review nearly 1,800km of its rail network, 140 bridges and 800 stations.
By the end of the decade, DB’s total ICE fleet would be increased to around 450 trains.
The new order will increase Railpool’s Traxx fleet to more than 250 locomotives.
DB Regio will run the fully approved battery train with passengers on two separate routes.
