Turkey has completed the Turkish segment of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line at a cost of TRY333m ($184m).

The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway line is a regional railway link that will directly connect Baku in Turkey, Tbilisi in Georgia and Kars in Azerbaijan.

The remaining sector will be built at a cost of TRY700-750m ($388-$415.6m) and tender for the project will be announced later.

Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey signed the deal on 8 February 2007.
