The in-motion weighing system can weigh trains at speeds of up to 3mph (5kph), with an achievable accuracy of 2–3% (or better, subject to site conditions). It supports axle loads of up to 40,000kg (20,000kg per wheel), making it suitable for heavy freight applications. The PTW is compatible with a wide range of track gauges and rail profiles, with installation requiring no cutting, drilling or welding, avoiding costly civil works or permanent alterations.
