Railteco Advances On-Site Assembly of Heavy-Duty Sugarcane Wagons in South America Fleet Progresses on Schedule for Upcoming Harvest Season Following Successful Coupling and No-Load Trials
Jiangsu Railteco Equipment Co., Ltd. (Railteco) is progressing steadily with the on-site construction of a fleet of heavy-duty sugarcane wagons for a key customer in South America. Despite intense summer heat, the company’s technicians continue meticulous welding, assembly, and integration work to ensure the wagons are ready to support the region’s critical harvest season.
These specialised railcars form an essential part of the logistics chain for sugarcane transport. Over recent weeks, the Railteco team has focused on building robust body structures, solid side walls, end walls, and partition walls, each component carefully positioned, welded, and secured to meet the rigorous demands of agricultural rail operations.
A significant milestone was recently achieved with the completion of full train coupling and rigorous no-load running trials. The trains demonstrated excellent stability, and the braking systems performed with the precision required for safe, reliable service. The customer observed the trials firsthand and expressed strong satisfaction with both the performance and safety of the wagons.
Railteco remains firmly on schedule. All remaining welding, assembly, and testing activities are expected to be fully completed by mid-to-late August 2026. Once finalised, the sugarcane wagons will enter service, transporting loads through the expansive green fields that define the region’s agricultural landscape.
