OMK has declared Orbis UK as its official charity partner. Orbis is an international eye care charity that prevents and treats avoidable blindness and visual impairment.

Close to 75% of visual impairment globally is preventable or treatable. Orbis trains and mentors local eye care teams, raises awareness in communities and partners with hospitals, Non-Government Organisations and governments to save sight and transform lives around the world.

OMK is committing to this cause by donating a percentage of its sale starting August 2019.

The Orbis Flying Eye Hospital is an ophthalmic teaching hospital located on board a MD-10 aircraft.  This unique facility brings training to doctors and nurses across Africa, Asia and Latin America, who often have little access to professional development.

The Flying Eye Hospital features an operating theatre, where Orbis medical volunteers perform sight saving surgeries with local eye care teams. These are transmitted to the classroom at the front of the aircraft as well as broadcast over Orbis’s online telemedicine platform, Cybersight, teaching new techniques and procedures to medical professionals across the world.
