Goldschmidt Sweden AB, a specialist in road-rail vehicles and part of the international Goldschmidt Group, is launching a comprehensive modernisation and expansion project at its company headquarters in Osby, Sweden. The project, which will span two and a half years, includes the refurbishment of existing production halls and the construction of a new, state-of-the-art vehicle assembly hall. With this strategic investment, the company is enhancing its production capacities and laying the foundation for future growth.

As part of the first construction phase, scheduled for completion by the end of 2026, the company Rickardsson Bygg AB has been commissioned to construct a new vehicle assembly hall. Covering an area of 1,700 square metres, the new hall will be the centrepiece of the construction project. In a next step, the existing production complex, which includes two manufacturing halls, will undergo extensive modernisation.

“This investment is a clear commitment to the Osby site and to the long-term development of Goldschmidt Sweden,” says Goldschmidt Sweden managing director Stefan Magnusson. “By modernising our facilities, we are not only creating optimal production conditions but also significantly improving the working environment for our employees.”

In addition to establishing a modern manufacturing infrastructure with improved workplaces, break areas, and offices, particular emphasis is being placed on sustainability and energy efficiency. Key components for significantly reducing the company’s carbon footprint include the energy-efficient refurbishment of existing buildings, featuring new windows, enhanced wall and ceiling insulation, and connecting to the local district heating network. Furthermore, the modernisation will strengthen customer focus by enabling increased capacity, shorter delivery times, and improvements in service and quality.

Goldschmidt Group CEO Dr.-Ing. Georg Friberg emphasises the strategic importance of the project: “The investment in our Swedish site and in the road-rail vehicle segment is a vital part of our global growth strategy. With cutting-edge production facilities, we can meet the growing demands of our customers even more effectively and further expand our market position.”

Goldschmidt family member and chairman of the supervisory board Karl Goldschmidt adds: “As a family-owned company, we think in generations. With this forward-looking investment, we are ensuring that Goldschmidt Sweden remains a strong and sustainable production site for decades to come.”
