About Us

Yapi Merkezi is an international privately-owned contracting company, specialising in rail engineering, design, manufacture and construction. The company also has experience in electrification, signalling and telecommunication systems.
Yapi Merkezi, founded in 1965, is located in Istanbul, Turkey, as well as branches in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Morocco, Ethiopia and Tanzania.
Awards and acclaim
Yapı Merkezi is a world brand in rail systems. The 2004 International Association for Public Transport (UITP) Light Rail Project of the Year Award was given to ESTRAM (Eskişehir LRTS).
The UITP 2010 Best Urban Integration Project of the Year and British Light Rail Transit Association’s Worldwide Project of the Year Awards were accorded to Kayseray (Kayseri Light Rail System).
The Casablanca tram line, which came into service at the end of 2012, was elected as highly commended in the best world-class rail system project of the year 2012 category by Tramways & Urban Transit Organization.
Since 1998, Yapı Merkezi has been continuously listed in Engineering News Record’s (ENR) annual Top 250 International Contractors List. In the mass transit / light rail category, Yapi Merkezi was ranked 4th largest in the world in 1998, 3rd in 1999, 7th in 2000 and 9th in 2017.

Overhead catenary systems
Rail systems with overhead wires that supply electricity to vehicles that are equipped with pantographs are known as overhead catenaries. Yapi Merkezi supplies overhead catenary system sub-stations, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems and maintenance vehicles.
Signaling, train control and telecommunication systems
Yapi Merkezi implements design and build signalling, as well as telecommunications systems for railways. Projects include European rail traffic management system (ERTMS) level 1 and level 2 implementation on the Ankara-Konya high-speed railway project.

Ankara-Sivas High-Speed Line
