The ERTMS Level 2 signalling standard has been created to enable cross-border rail operations across Europe.

In addition to providing continuous radio-based, automatic train protection, the system helps to optimise the flow of trains and network interoperability, as well as reduce maintenance costs.

Bombardier’s ERTMS Level 2 solutions are currently used in 26 countries.

In Sweden, the company has already equipped more than 130 vehicles with its EBI Cab onboard system, which is compatible with ERTMS and existing signalling systems.
