Meeting EN 50155 Demands for 50W, 100W to 150W DC / DC Converters

By

DC / DC converters must be able to provide a stable and reliable voltage supply for different kinds of electronic control systems.

Different voltage supply systems are familiar in railway vehicles, ranging from 24VDC to 110VDC. Battery chargers are responsible for charging different kind of batteries (NiCd, PB, 100Ah to 500Ah) and providing energy for electronic board equipment.

The DC output voltage is dependent from temperature. The charger provides an output voltage in dependence of battery condition controlled by a negative temperature coefficient (NTC) dependent reference voltage. EN 50155 defines the permitted voltage range for a 110V system from 66V to 154V.
