This presentation provides information about Rex's support pads, including the company's new rubber pad, for wheelsets. Various designs and options are available, depending on customers' requirements.
Rex Articoli Tecnici SA specialises track insulation materials for railway lines, with or without ballast, including rubber to metal, rubber to plastic and rubber to rubber components. Specific railway products include:
- Rubber boots, cellular rubber and special rail pads for ballast-free permanent way construction
- Rubber to metal and rubber to PTFE technical parts
- Joints, belts in all kinds of elastic materials
- Cellular rubber
Rex Articoli Tecnici SA is a Swiss company located in Mendrisio, the southern Italian speaking region of the country. Standing right in the middle of Europe, Mendrisio is situated directly on the most important south/north connection in Europe: the Gotthard line.
Rex has its own projecting team for elastic applications from CAD modelling, FEM simulation and compound development to production. By means of our sophisticated laboratory equipment, we are able to perform all kinds of material testing (mechanical, ageing) procedures.
Rex Articoli Tecnici
The company was established in 1935 and has been certified by SQS according to ISO 9001 since 1990, and IRIS certification since 2010.
Ballast-free railway construction
Rex delivered its first rubber boots and microcellular plates for a ballast-free railway line in Switzerland in the early 70s. Since that date many tunnel projects have been equipped with Rex equipment, constituting a great level of experience and know-how.
Special materials are developed according to the special conditions. The components are tested and certified by different international institutes (Empa Switzerland, TH München, etc.) Rex’ internal compound development and production enables the firm to achieve all the most stringent technical requirements.
Rubber boots for PU light sleepers
By means of CAD modelling and FEM simulation, Rex is able to optimise the charge distribution on sleepers.
Rubber mouldings for the railway industry
Amongst the different rubber technical mouldings, Rex has a great experience in bonding elastomers to metal and to synthetic products (thermoplastics)/ CAD modelling and FEM simulation programs with a modern laboratory allow great flexibility and punctual results in the development of new components.
Swisscross rubber-concrete and fire protected level crossing
The new level crossing without connecting bar allows a much faster mounting. We can deliver crossings for 1435, 1524 and 1000mm gauge.
Please ask for our level crossing checklist. In this way we can make you a precise offer.
The Future Bern Station (FBS) project includes the expansion of the Bern railway station, the second biggest station in Switzerland. The project encompasses the construction of a new underground station, an underpass, and supporting outdoor expansion works.
At InnoTrans, held in Berlin from 20-23 September 2016, REX Articoli Technici SA (hall 2.2, booth 207) will be unveiling its innovative rubber wheelset support pads for the railway industry.
Rex Articoli Tecnici will exhibit at Innotrans in Berlin at stand 217 in hall 26. We will be showing: SWISSCROSS rubber level crossings Moulded rubber parts for the ballastfree superconstruction Rubber boots for mono and bi-block sleepers Mic
Swisscross, high quality rubber level crossings in Roman Switzerland. The CFF started to replace several tracks with 1,435mm gauge and wooden sleepers in the areas of Fribourg and St. Maurice. This could only be done during the night, therefore it was quick and easy to install Swisscross rubber l
Rhätische Bahn trusts in Swisscross high quality rubber level crossings. In the station of Chur, two metric tracks were reconstructed and a new diagonal crossing for carts over two tracks was installed. In this area, there were many cables and electrical distribution boxes that required some
Trains often produce noises when entering railway stations or leaving tunnels at a curve. These noises can very simply be reduced!Rex Articoli Tecnici SA in Switzerland offers in co-operation with Teknikum Oy in Finland a new product that is currently available for rail types 54E1/BV5
Rex will meet the clients to the Swisstech 2004 to Basel (CH) from 16 to 19 November. On the stand we won't introduce specific articles of the railway sector but it will be possible to discuss with our team all technical and commercial demands on rubber and thermoplastic applications.
Wolfenschiessen is in the tourist area of Central Switzerland. Many trains pass daily from Luzern to Engelberg. Since last summer the traffic in Wolfenschiessen crosses the track over rubber elements. Company REX in Mendrisio has created the SWISSCROSS Rubber Level Crossings through coope
RAIL PADS FOR METRO A new rail pad for metro and tram lines has been developed. The difference between static and dynamic stiffness from 0 to 80 Hertz of frequency is less than 40%. This is specially given by the new profile and the new compound, which has also a protection against
Two new types of rubber level crossings, colled TekniCross and SwissCross, have been created through the cooperation of Teknikum, Finland, and Rex Articoli Tecnici , Switzerland. Teknikum has been selling rubber level crossings for service in the harsh climatic conditions in Scandinavi
