Displays For UK’s Largest Concourse
Work to enable hundreds of additional Thameslink trains to travel into London Bridge station every day are now well underway as part of the Government’s £6bn Thameslink programme. The customer information displays for the redevelopment of London Bridge station have been provided by Infotec and are a vital part of keeping the UK’s third biggest station running smoothly.
On completion, the station’s developed concourse will be the largest in the UK, welcoming over 50 million passengers a year. Infotec was commissioned to replace the plasma display here with an alternative LED one.
A new A-Z board has also been designed and built by Infotec for London Bridge station’s platform entrance, with several designs having been drawn up for consideration to ensure the best match with the current display style used.
The contract also included approximately 50 LED displays, designed by Infotec to replace dozens of plasma screens at various locations throughout the station.
In addition to a uniformity of appearance for the contract, the brief also demanded that the displays offer good visibility, low maintenance and high reliability.
Infotec’s LED technology has met these needs, while the company’s in-house design and manufacturing departments have ensured the displays have fitted into the station environment without the need for any major structural upheaval.
Infotec is the UK’s leading designer and manufacturer of electronic displays. The Leicestershire company also provides display networking equipment, secondary steelwork and a full service of design, manufacture, supply, install and maintain.
