UK rail industry electronic display systems supplier Infotec Ltd. has been named winner of a national award designed to recognise initiative and innovation used to make using the railway as inviting, efficient and customer-focused as possible.

The Railtex Award for Station Facilities was handed to the company’s founder Jeff Court at a prestigious dinner in London last night (May 1) attended by scores of rail industry organisations and VIP guests.

Infotec beat off considerable opposition in the high profile awards which have been launched this year. They recognise excellence within the organisations that exhibit at Railtex – a biennial exhibition that sees hundreds of companies and organisations take part and thousands of visitors from dozens of countries attend.

Jeff Court said: "Infotec is delighted with this success. We feel it acknowledges the hard work of our staff, the co-operation of our suppliers and the close working relationships we enjoy with our clients.

"Innovation is about finding the right solutions and everyone involved with Infotec is dedicated to achieving this."

In its entry for the award Infotec explained that is recognises customer information displays need to provide up-to-date and accurate information and explained the ways its high-tech products and customer-focussed services have been developed to achieve this.

Today, the company’s products are used to provide display solutions at overground, underground and metro systems, – at the last count more than 8,000 displays at over 1,000 UK stations and in an increasing number of locations overseas.

Speaking recently about work Infotec has done for Southerneastern Trains, their head of facilities Peter Stapleton said: "We get passenger feedback scores for satisfaction and on information at St Pancras and the high speed station it runs at 95%."
