Matrox Graphics is a global manufacturer of reliable, top-quality, high-performance, application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs), boards, appliances and software solutions.
Supported by in-house design expertise and dedicated customer support, Matrox products deliver stellar capture, encoding, kernel-based virtual machine (KVM) extension, distribution and display.
Display solutions for rail control rooms
Matrox’s state-of-the-art hardware and software solutions are deployed in modern rail control centres with large, sophisticated video walls and multi-screen operator desks.
Matrox Graphics
The company offers a diverse range of products for rail control rooms, including:
- Graphic cards designed for demanding multi-display applications
- Video wall processor boards that capture and display multiple sources
- AV-over-IP devices to distribute content over the network and record screen activity
- KVM extenders to centralise workstations in a secure location while maintaining real-time control from operator desks
- Easy-to-use software to help simplify deployment, customise set-ups, adjust streaming parameters and control layouts
Control room operators worldwide depend on Matrox, enabling them to reliably view and monitor multiple streams of data simultaneously. Reliable display of train control systems information, field data, SCADA info, integrated communication systems, and video and security footage is critical.
Command centre controllers also use Matrox systems to interact with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) that manage interlocking systems and other remote equipment.
Multi-monitor graphics cards
Matrox graphics cards are the preferred choice for control room operations, digital signage, and all forms of high-reliability computer-based graphics display based on field-proven Matrox PowerDesk desktop management software. Matrox graphics cards optimally combine fanless design, low power consumption, high-quality components, and managed product life cycles.
Matrox C-Series is the latest in a long line of graphics cards engineered for stability, reliability and advanced multi-display capabilities. Both the quad-output C420 and the six-output C680 PCI Express® x16 cards feature 2GB of onboard memory and Mini DisplayPort connectivity.
The C-Series delivers outstanding performance for control room, digital signage, enterprise, industrial, security, A/V and embedded system applications. The graphic cards are compatible with Microsoft® Windows 7, 8.1 and Linux® operating systems and designed to accelerate modern applications based on DirectX® 11.2, OpenGL® 4.4, and OpenCL™ 1.2.
Video wall controllers for railway and transport information
Engineered to deliver unparalleled performance and image quality, Matrox field-proven video wall controller boards feature the most scalable architecture in the industry.
Matrox offers baseline software for integrators with simple demands for their video wall applications. The company also has a global fleet of OEM partners with turnkey video wall environments for all video wall applications, ranging from visualisation and collaboration to advanced digital signage with special effects.
Matrox Mura MPX boards are versatile, integrating both capture and display functionality. Featuring universal input channel support for both digital and analogue video signals, Mura boards process a wide range of content, including current rail traffic, and actual and scheduled train positions. HD image capture and display of uncompressed data ensures impeccable quality of text, video and graphics.
Secure, noise-free KVM extenders
Matrox Avio and Extio KVM extenders allows operators to control workstations from a distance, separating standard peripherals such as the keyboard, monitors and mouse from the system by up to 10km (6.2 miles) via fibre-optic cabling.
Ideal for environments requiring data security, low heat emissions, more workspace and no noise, Matrox KVM extenders provide a method to centralise workstations in a secure, climate-controlled equipment room for easier maintenance, while ensuring operators maintain real-time monitoring and control with zero-latency transmission and no dropped frames.
AV-over-IP encoders and decoders
Matrox Maevex H.264 encoders and decoders distribute or record excellent quality video and audio over a standard IP network with minimal network bandwidth consumption.
Operators have the ability to stream audio and video to a Maevex decoder or any device supporting the required network protocols, easily switch streams at any location on the network and share or record desktop content to network-attached storage (NAS) for later review.
Regardless of the application, Maevex stands out for its ability to deliver full HD video quality (up to1,080p60 and 1,900 x 1,200) at low, user-defined bit rates.
About Matrox
Matrox’s clients are software original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), system integrators, control room designers, installers, solution providers, transit agencies and rail operators.
Matrox Maevex
