Transnet Engineering has decided to purchase an NBT Loco 2 x 450 kN bogie test stand from Nencki, the first such Nencki unit to be used in South Africa. This three-axle test stand will be operational at the company’s factory in Pretoria from August 2014.

Transnet Engineering is currently working in a joint venture with Chinese firm CSR.

The Pretoria factory produces, assembles and tests up to 1,000 bogies every year. The periodical maintenance of the used bogies also takes place at the facility.
