  • High-voltage (HV) AC/DC overhead line equipment
  • High-current HV DC isolators and negative links
  • Insulators, surge arresters and clamps
  • Copper busbar, fasteners, anchors and steelwork
  • Section insulators and neutral sections
  • Specialised Lanfranco locking nuts
  • Cembre rail earthing and bonding connectors
  • Inter-car jumper assemblies
  • Enclosure assemblies and wiring looms
  • Hermetically sealed relays
  • Train earthing switches
  • Logistics services

ART also specialises in engineering support and solutions for railway and tramway applications including design, prototyping, development, testing, repairs and manufacture. Our staff include electrical, electronic and mechanical engineers who are supported by a team of qualified technicians. Our CAD packages include Microstation, Solidworks and Promise.

We have extensive experience in project management and turnkey solutions and can offer full support to project managers where engineering and logistics support play key roles in delivery of the project.

High-voltage overhead line fittings

ART supplies high-voltage overhead line fittings for rail and tramway infrastructure systems, for both AC and DC applications.

Our range of substation and overhead line components includes high-voltage terminations, crimp lugs, insulators, cable cleats and clamps, surge arrestors, earth leads, test rails, copper busbars, negative links, SS and galvanised fasteners, steel brackets and plates, chemical anchors, spark gaps, helical grips, weight and anchor assemblies, and cantilever assemblies.

We are also able to supply heavy steel work including masts, portal structures and associated overhead line galvanised steel fittings, brackets and insulator support and cross arms.

High-current HV DC isolators

ART manufactures an extensive range of high-current HV DC isolators up to 4,000A for traction and high-power applications. These include 1,500VDC, 3,000A, three-position isolators for substation and mast-mount applications, and 600VDC isolators for tram networks.

Logistic distribution of rail components, masts and structures

ART can co-ordinate logistic distribution of rail components, masts and structures for large-scale projects, including long-term scheduled deliveries and palletisation to meet customer-specific applications.

Maintenance for rolling stock electronic equipment

ART provides maintenance and repair services for rolling stock electronic equipment, drivers' desk components, data loggers and vigilance control gear. We have electrical and electronic engineers with specialised rail experience available for new design work, upgrades and on-site services.

Substation components

ART manufactures and supplies substation components, including electrical and cable fit-out equipment HV terminations, crimp lugs, power fingers, negative links, clamps, cable cleats and insulators for rail and tramway substations and switchyards.

Surge arrestors

ART stocks and supplies HV surge arrestors for leading manufacturers including Bowthorpe and ABB for all voltage applications.

Section insulators and neutral sections

Jacques Galland, the premier partner of ART, manufactures overhead line hardware including section insulators and neutral sections, which ART can supply.

High and low-voltage rail insulators

ART stocks and supply high and low-voltage rail insulators from leading manufacturers, including EMC Pacific (cycloalaphatic resin), NGK (porcelain), K-Line (silicon composite), Pfisterer (silicone composite) and Sediver (glass) for all voltage applications.

Inter-car jumpers

ART manufactures custom-made inter-car jumper assemblies including power and control circuits.

Enclosure assemblies, marshalling panels and wiring looms

ART can provide pre-assembled enclosure assemblies and custom wiring looms for rolling stock, trackside substations and other industrial applications to customer specifications meeting IP65 and IEC61373, Category 1, Class B shock and vibration.

Hermetically sealed relays

Leach International's hermetically sealed relays are suitable for use on rolling stock where space and weight are critical. ART provides build-to-print engineering services.

Earthing switches

ART manufactures earthing switches for rolling stock, typically 3,000A and 1,500VDC meeting KEMA power and test specifications. A white paper is available and other sizes are available on request.

ISO-qualified manufacturer of rail electrical equipment

ART continues to achieve the high-quality manufacturing standards set by its predecessors Multi-Contact Australia, Edward Keller Australia and DKSH Australia. The company is QA-certified by DLIQ to AS/NZS ISO 9001:2008 and has representatives across Australia and New Zealand.

ART has partnered with several leading manufacturers to offer local logistic and technical support to the Australian and New Zealand rail and tramway market. These companies include EMC Pacific, Leach International, Lanfranco, Mafelec, Cembre and Jacques Galland, Harting, Dulmison, Siemens, Multi Contact, NGK and 3M.
