A Vinci Construction-led consortium and Spie batignolles have secured a €400m contract from France-based RATP to develop the planned Line 14 South in Paris.

The contract was awarded as a part of the wider Grand Paris Express programme.

RATP has selected the consortium to conduct works package GC02 of the planned Line 14 South, which will run between Orly Airport and Olympiades in the 13th arrondissement of Paris.

“The completed Line 14 South is anticipated to be used by more than 260,000 commuters from Paris, and the Val de Marne and Essonne départements.”

The contracted works will require an earth pressure balance tunnel-boring machine to excavate a 4.6km-long tunnel from the future Maison Blanche Paris XIII station to the TBM starting shaft at Jean Prouvé.

The construction of the new Kremlin Bicêtre Hôpital station, as well as five ventilation and emergency shafts, will also be carried out as part of the deal.

Work on the project is currently scheduled to be completed in 72 months and will create almost 250 jobs.
