Pyrotek to Unveil Next-Generation Acoustic, Thermal and Fire Protection Solutions for the Rail Industry at InnoTrans 2026

Pyrotek to Unveil Next-Generation Acoustic, Thermal and Fire Protection Solutions for the Rail Industry at InnoTrans 2026-feature-image

Visit Pyrotek at Hall 8.2, Stand 320 | Berlin | 22–25 September 2026

Pyrotek will return to InnoTrans 2026, the world’s leading international trade fair for transport technology, where the company will present an expanded portfolio of acoustic, thermal and fire protection solutions engineered for the next generation of rail vehicles and transport applications.

Visitors to the Pyrotek stand will discover not only the company’s established range of acoustic insulation, thermal insulation and vibration damping solutions, but also a series of innovative materials and engineered coatings developed to address some of today’s biggest engineering challenges – from noise and vibration to condensation control and passive fire protection.

As rolling stock continues to evolve, manufacturers are expected to deliver lighter, quieter and more energy-efficient vehicles while meeting increasingly stringent safety and fire performance requirements. Pyrotek continues to invest in advanced material technologies that help manufacturers overcome these challenges, providing engineers with a broader portfolio of solutions to improve passenger comfort, reduce weight and simplify installation.

At InnoTrans 2026, visitors will have the opportunity to explore these expanded capabilities and discuss how they can support both current and future transport projects.

From vehicle interiors to rail infrastructure

From vehicle interiors to rail infrastructure, Pyrotek will demonstrate a comprehensive portfolio of engineered solutions designed to control noise, vibration, temperature and fire, supporting manufacturers and infrastructure operators in creating safer, quieter and more comfortable transport systems.

Introducing the next generation of Sorbermel®

One of the highlights of the exhibition will be the latest advancements in the Sorbermel® platform, reflecting Pyrotek’s continued focus on innovation in both performance and sustainability.

Making its InnoTrans debut, Sorbermel® H combines the exceptional acoustic performance and lightweight characteristics of melamine foam with outstanding water repellency. Engineered for demanding transportation environments, it is designed for applications where moisture and condensation can affect long-term performance, giving designers greater flexibility when specifying lightweight acoustic insulation for rail vehicles.

Visitors will also discover the next evolution of the Sorbermel platform. Sorbermel is now manufactured using an ISCC PLUS-certified eco-balanced raw material grade, reducing its carbon footprint while maintaining the same trusted acoustic performance, fire safety characteristics and material properties engineers rely on.

Whether the priority is enhanced environmental durability or lower embodied carbon, the next generation of Sorbermel delivers intelligent acoustic solutions without compromise.

Advanced vibration damping

For applications where structure-borne noise is a concern, Pyrotek will present Decidamp® SP500, a spray-applied vibration damping coating engineered to reduce panel resonance and vibration while providing excellent coverage on complex geometries. Its seamless spray application offers an efficient alternative where conventional damping materials may be difficult to install.

Anti-condensation thermal coating

Visitors will also be able to explore Decicoat® T35, a spray-applied thermal insulation coating developed to minimise condensation, reduce thermal bridging and help protect metal structures against corrosion. Its seamless application makes it particularly effective on complex geometries where traditional insulation systems can leave gaps or thermal bridges.

Passive fire protection

Completing Pyrotek’s protective coating portfolio is Decicoat® P60, a water-based intumescent coating for structural fire protection. When exposed to high temperatures, the coating expands to form an insulating char layer that helps metal structures maintain their integrity for longer, providing valuable additional evacuation time during a fire event.

Rail infrastructure noise control

Pyrotek’s expertise extends beyond rolling stock with Decidamp® RTD, a tuned rail track damper designed to reduce rail-radiated noise directly at the source. Installed on the rail web, Decidamp RTD absorbs vibration generated by passing trains, helping to reduce noise emissions while minimising rail resonance, wear and corrugation.

For infrastructure projects requiring enhanced noise control, Decidamp RTD is often combined with Reapor® acoustic absorption panels. Together, these complementary solutions reduce railway noise at its source while absorbing reflected sound in tunnels and other rail infrastructure environments.

Complete transport solutions

Alongside these latest innovations, Pyrotek will showcase its comprehensive portfolio for the transport industry, including:

Whether developing high-speed trains, metro vehicles, trams or locomotives, visitors will have the opportunity to discuss project requirements directly with Pyrotek’s engineering specialists and explore solutions that improve performance, simplify manufacturing and enhance passenger comfort.

Meet the Pyrotek team at InnoTrans 2026

Throughout the exhibition, Pyrotek’s technical and commercial experts will be available to discuss current and future projects, exchange ideas and demonstrate how the company’s expanding portfolio can support the next generation of rail vehicles and transport systems.

Visitors wishing to arrange a dedicated meeting are encouraged to schedule an appointment in advance through the InnoTrans PLUS Networking platform or by contacting their local Pyrotek representative.
