UK-based train operating company London North Eastern Railway (LNER) has introduced free Wi-Fi services on all its trains in a bid to improve passenger experience.
The service is available through a quick online sign-in process and will enable passengers to access the internet while onboard.

It uses mobile data and selects the best connection in the area to ensure drop-out free internet signalling for passengers.
LNER customer experience director Claire Ansley said: “Whether its work, social or play, we want to help Brits stay connected to the people and things that are important to them.
“So when they’re on one of our trains, they can be sure of hassle-free and free of charge Wi-Fi on all our trains, whether they’re travelling in Standard or First Class.”
When travelling, existing LNER customers can sign in with their email address and password and new passengers will have to register to use the Wi-Fi services.

By GlobalDataThe decision to introduce free Wi-Fi services is primarily driven by the importance of connectivity among people in the UK, LNER said.
LNER conducted research, in which about one-third (33%) of the total respondents admitted that they wouldn’t be able to live without Wi-Fi, while around 29% said that free internet access can influence their travel decisions.
Additionally, around 18% stated they would opt for sitting separately from their family and friends for free internet.
Around one in five (18%) respondents have paid additional money for travel upgrades to receive an uninterrupted connection, or considered doing so.
Furthermore, 17% of people surveyed said that they would hang around a train station longer to stay connected, while 11% set up a temporary office at the station to complete their work.
