The company previously won two contracts for the Dhaka Metro Line-6 in 2018, followed by another one last year for Line 1.

The Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Development Project was planned to mitigate traffic congestion in Dhaka, the capital of the country, as well as encourage economic development.

Overall, the project involves building five metro lines in the city and surrounding areas by 2030.

Slated to open in December next year, the 20.1km-long MRT Line 6 will be the first line to commence commercial services.

Last year, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) allocated a loan of $33.26m for the design of Line 5 (Southern Route).
