Bombardier China president Jianwei Zhang said: “Medium-capacity monorails are a highly efficient and environmentally friendly alternative to metros and Bombardier’s experience, having delivered monorail technology for over 20 years, including operating and maintaining these systems, was the core reason why Wuhu city chose our joint venture.

“This choice will ensure that Wuhu gets a reliable and green transportation system that better serves its passengers.”

The Innovia Monorail 300 system is Bombardier’s latest medium-capacity monorail technology.

It features spacious interiors to improve comfort for commuters, while its inter-car walkthrough facilitates the free flow of passengers and improves overall safety.

In addition, Bombardier’s Chinese JV Bombardier Sifang (Qingdao) Transportation has delivered 184 CRH1A-A next-generation high-speed train cars to China Railway as part of a separate development.
