An NHSRCL official told TPI that the project, estimated to cost Rs3bn-Rs4bn ($42m-$56.4m), will start within one month after the contract is awarded and will take 30 months to complete.

To be developed as a business hub, the terminal building will also offer connectivity to the Ahmedabad metro and the BRT corridor.

NHSRCL has recently started preliminary works of relocation of the trees falling on the alignment of the rail corridor. Major construction works are scheduled to begin from January next year.

The Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train, the first of its kind in India, stretches through 508km and will include 12 stations.

It is expected to start operations from 2022.
