The Government of New South Wales in Australia is set to run more than 300 extra weekly train services on Western Sydney's two main rail lines, which are to commence with the introduction of new train timetables later this year.
The announcement was made by New South Wales Premier Gladys Berejiklian and Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Andrew Constance as part of a plan outlining various improvements to both the T1 Western Line and T2 Inner West Line.

Berejiklian said: “We are making it more convenient for customers to travel between Western Sydney, the Inner West and Sydney’s CBD.
“By simplifying and modernising parts of the network we are able to achieve far better services for customers.”
The new Sydney Trains network improvement plan will see more than 250 express trains run between Parramatta and the Sydney CBD every week, including 20 express trains during peak hours, in order to provide better connectivity for commuters.
A new direct link will also begin service on weekdays between the Inner West and Parramatta sections of the T2 Line.

“They include the T2 Line extending to Parramatta and also to Leppington in the south-west.
‘We’re also extending services on the T5 line to Leppington and Richmond, along with re-badging the Airport line to the T8 to distinguish this popular service for tourists and visitors.”
Other significant changes include more services to Burwood through the T2 Inner West line, and doubling the frequency of late night services to and from the Sydney CBD to Penrith on the T1 Western Line.
The latest development forms part of an A$1.5bn ($1.18bn) ‘More Trains, More Services’ programme aimed at restructuring and improving Sydney’s rail network.
