As a result of swift maintenance and replacement services, 43 out of 64 coaches will enter service by 21 March, which will help more than 5,000 passengers reach their destinations.
Most of the trains running on Geelong and Bendigo corridors will be restored along with Ballarat train services. All services, except two, on the Gippsland line will be restored.
V/Line’s service restoration plan was divided into two stages. Restoration works in the first stage have been completed.
In stage two, more trains are expected to return to service and the timetable for these is expected later this year.
