Unipart Rail and Arabian Railway Company (ARC) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to form a joint venture company intended for developing world-class projects, and offering supply chain and consultancy services in Saudi Arabia.

The deal was signed at the Middle East Rail 2017 conference in Dubai under the presence of UK Rail Minister Paul Maynard.

Under the agreement, Unipart Rail will open a Saudi Arabian office in MIG's new tower block on King Fahd Road, opposite the King Abdulla Financial District.

Arabian Railway Company president and CEO Khalid Al-Jumaid said: "Unipart is coming from an area where they are very expert on managing all of the supply chain.

"They take all the challenges and difficulties that could face an operator, and manage it on their behalf.

"They come with an excellent track record and experience, as well as knowing the Middle East market very well, and that’s why I believe that Unipart will be successful here."

Unipart Rail serves the rail industry by providing products, supply chain services, manufacturing, repair and consultancy services.
