US-based Trimble has expanded its rail services through acquiring Beena Vision Systems, a manufacturer of automatic wayside inspection systems.
Beena Vision integrates with Trimble's rail strategy and complements its rolling-stock asset management solutions.

Trimble Railway Solutions business general manager Tomas Larsson said: "Adding Beena Vision's automatic wayside inspection systems makes us even more relevant to an expanding customer base.
"Beena Vision's strong North American and Australian presence, in conjunction with Trimble's UK and Europe presence, provides the ability to access new customers. In addition, Beena Vision's freight segment focus combined with Trimble's passenger rail focus creates significant synergy potential."
Following the acquisition, Beena Vision will part of Trimble's Engineering and Construction segment.
By managing the lifecycle of rolling-stock from operation through maintenance and repair, Trimble's enterprise solutions allow companies to improve operational efficiencies and manage service levels.

Beena Vision provides wayside detectors for the rolling stock maintenance market.
With the company’s non-contact measurement technology, the condition of train components ranging from wheel surface condition to full train inspection can be assessed.
The company’s solutions are installed at most North American Class 1 railroads, as well as other TOCs worldwide.
