International technology group Teleste has signed a frame agreement to deploy its systems on-board Alstom's trains. 

The agreement represents a continuation of the earlier cooperation deal between Alstom and Teleste’s subsidiary Teleste Information Solutions, formerly known as Mitron.

Teleste has already received an order this year to deliver on-board systems for more than 100 Alstom trains operating across Europe.

Teleste On-board Solutions director Pekka Vänni said: “Our on-board solutions have been designed to let the passengers enjoy clear, visible and up-to-date information in every phase of their journey.

“We are confident that we will be able to offer Alstom just what is needed to meet the transport operators’ and passengers’ expectations of modern travelling.”

The contract will see Teleste deliver on-board solutions equipped with passenger information systems (PIS), CCTV, intercommunication and public address systems.

The company are also set to provide TFT and LED displays for installation inside the trains.

Alstom commodity manager Laurent Bacqué said: “We are pleased to continue our previous cooperation with Teleste, whose technologies, operations, and delivery performance we have learnt to trust over the years.

“To enable attractive services and improve their punctuality and availability, we need systems and technologies which enable easy access to information and flexible updates to changing service needs.”

The installation of Teleste systems is expected to provide the Alstom's passengers with accurate and real-time travel information.

It is also intended to enable railway operators to adopt new and smart services to optimise travel services.
