Logent Ports & Terminals has opened a new rail track at its car terminal at the Port of Gothenburg, Sweden.
The 500m-long track connects with the pre-delivery inspection (PDI) facility in the terminal. The facility moulds the imported cars to adapt to Swedish conditions.

The terminal will be able to import 300 cars a day.
The work on the track began 18 months ago to create a new entrance to the port.
Logent Ports & Terminals president Anders Madsen said: "We are now able to offer the automotive industry more efficient, climate-smart distribution solutions.
"There are also firm indications that rail will be in a strong position when it comes to car transport in the future."

By GlobalDataThe track will be inaugurated this week, with trucks carrying Nissan and Renault cars to Sweden.
The rail system will also transport truck chassis, dumpers and wheel loaders to the Port of Gothenburg.
Port of Gothenburg CE Magnus Kårestedt said: "Being able to travel straight to the quayside at the car terminal by rail allows Swedish companies to reach their export or import markets directly without transhipment at a port on the continent."
Logent Ports & Terminals is one the important export ports for vehicles in Sweden. The port offers PDI services to cars and deals with loading and unloading, in addition to parking and storage.
The terminal offers direct services to Europe, North America, the Middle East and India.
