GO Transit, an inter-regional public transit system in Ontario, Canada, has launched a mobile application that will allow passengers to view departures, set arrival alerts and bookmark schedules.
The application, developed in collaboration with Ryerson University, is available on BlackBerry, iPhone and Android devices.

The text-to-speech feature will allow devices to read departure information aloud to users in both English and French languages.
Ontario transport minister Bob Chiarelli said, "Travellers now have access to information from their mobile phone, making their trip planning faster and easier whether heading to or from work or class."
GO Transit links Toronto with the surrounding regions of the greater Toronto and Hamilton area and transports about 57 million passengers a year.
