Crossrail has awarded a Alstom Transport UK, TSO, and Costrain joint venture (JV) a £26m ($34.34) construction contract for a maintenance facility in Plumstead, London.

The facility will have three non-electrified sidings for the stabling, loading, and unloading of maintenance vehicles, as well as refuelling, repair, and jet washing facilities.

It will accommodate staff, equipment, components and consumables necessary for the maintenance of tracks and other infrastructure in the tunnels under London. It will also provide parking for approximately 100 cars, in addition to 20 maintenance vans and trucks.

MyHSR and Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) plans to appoint a joint development partner (JDP) to provide project management support for the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore high-speed rail (HSR) project.

The JDP will provide technical and procurement advice associated with the HSR's systems and will also develop technical and safety standards for the safe implementation of the project.
