To further strengthen their existing relationship, Bombardier Transportation and China Railway Rolling Stock (CRRC) have announced a new partnership, which will enable them to take-up rail transportation projects in China and other global markets.

Together, the companies will serve the growing global rail transportation equipment market and support mutual long-term growth objectives.

Siemens has secured a first full-service contract in Switzerland from Railcare to deliver seven 6.4MW Vectron locomotives that will provide freight services in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

The eight-year contract also includes service and maintenance of the locomotives, which are AC-powered and run at a speed of 160km/h. The trains will distribute goods in unaccompanied combined transport (UCT).
