Alstom class 180 trains

Bombardier Transportation has announced a partnership with Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia).

The two parties have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for modernising and replacing Ukraine’s locomotives fleet with new electric engines.

Russian Railways has announced a collaboration with Italian transportation company Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane to improve rail transportation in Russia and the Italian Republic.

As per the signed memorandum of co-operation, both parties will involve in the development of a number of new projects including construction of new rail infrastructure, modernisation of existing projects, and providing international transport and logistics services for passenger traffic and freight.

All the projects covered under the programme will be aimed at improving the efficiency of existing rail networks in both  countries.

Alstom has been awarded a €100m ($111.25m) 10-year contract to provide maintenance support for Class 180 trains operated by UK’s Grand Central Railway Company.
