The Government of Victoria has announced that construction of the Rowsley Crossing Loop in Australia has come to an end.

With the installation, the distance between existing loops at Parwan and Bank Box is reduced. The loop will be operational later this month and is set to support the government’s A$518m ($384m) investment to upgrade the Ballarat line, which will duplicate the line from Deer Park to Melton.

Victoria’s minister for public transport Jacinta Allan said: "This crossing loop will help to deliver more reliable services for passengers on the Ballarat line by enabling trains to make up time from any unexpected delays."

"The new crossing loop has been delivered as stage two of the government’s A$14.1m ($10.5m) Ballan Station Car Park Upgrade."

"The Andrews Labor Government’s plan to fix the Ballarat line and deliver more frequent and reliable services is delivering results."

Member for Bunninyong Geoff Howard said: "The Rowsley Station Road level crossing is safer for motorists now that boom gates are in place and the service will be more reliable for passengers now that work on the loop is complete."
