Train services on the Amtrak’s Capitol Corridor route have been temporarily suspended after a 6.1-magnitude earthquake hit southern Napa County in California, US, on 24 August.
Rail authorities conducted extensive inspections on rail tracks between San Francisco and Redwood City, due to which Caltrain service got delayed. Service resumed after the officials confirmed that the bridge structures have been cleared for operations.

Altamont Corridor Express’ (ACE) special train service between Stockton and San Jose has also been suspended citing safety concerns.
ACE and Capitol Corridor train services will remain closed until further notice.
According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake hit three miles north-west of American Canyon in Napa County.
As of 11am on 24 August, no reports of damages or injuries had been reported to San Francisco Fire Department.
