Amadeus and BeNe Rail International, a joint venture between NS and SNCB Railway Undertakings, have entered into a partnership agreement to create a new rail community IT platform.
Being developed as part of Amadeus’ Total Rail solution, the new community model-based platform will be hosted and operated from the company’s data centre in Erding, Germany, while BeNe RI’s existing customer CFL will be its launch partner.
The new platform will be used by all rail operators, in order to access to the same levels of functionality for both multichannel distribution and carrier hosting.
Aimed at offering a solution to cover all end-to-end processes for rail travel in Europe, the new platform will enable BeNe RI to manage its individual distribution channels and strategies.
BeNe RI president Arnold De Brauwer said: "Our customers will be able to rely on a single convenient rail solution to answer all their needs. This will also enable us to fine-tune our service by offering dedicated resources, which will improve travellers’ satisfaction as a result."
The long-term strategic partnership will deliver benefits to BeNe RI, which include increased flexibility and performance.
