For the metro modernisation project, an Alstom-led Expolink consortium, which also includes Acciona and Gulermak, will provide 50 new trains.

In October last year, the Expolink consortium signed a deal with RTA to design and build the extension of Dubai’s Red metro line.

As part of the €2.6bn metro modernisation project, the system of the existing line will also be upgraded.
