TX Logistik CEO Mirko Pahl said: “The new multisystem locomotives, which represent another clear step forward in the continuing modernisation of our rolling stock, provide high operating efficiency.

“At the same time, with their sensor technology, they contribute to the digitalisation of rail freight traffic, because these sensors make it possible to implement the next step in forward-looking maintenance.”

The Vectron trains have a maximum power of 6,400kW and are capable of operating at speeds of up to 160km/h.

They are equipped with European Train Control Systems (ETCS), as well as country-specific transaction and train safety solutions to ensure seamless operations across the continent.

"The new multisystem locomotives, which represent another clear step forward in the continuing modernisation of our rolling stock, provide high operating efficiency."

Six of the locomotives were leased to TX Logistik earlier this year, while another two were delivered last month.

Alpha Trains Locomotives Division managing director Fernando Pérez said: “The collaboration with TX Logistik has proven to be both constructive and fruitful throughout the entire construction phase.

“We are pleased that we, together with our customers, are able to put state-of-the-art technology on the rails and to build up relationships of trust over the long term.”

Alpha Trains provided financing and the project management during the construction of the trains, and is expected to offer maintenance services during the locomotives' operation.
