The contract required JSPL to supply rails to the Indian Railways over a period of one year. The company started deliveries in August and completed the consignment this month, nearly four months ahead of schedule.

The long rails were supplied from JSPL’s Raigarh plant in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh.

“We continue to stay committed to developing India’s infrastructure needs and contribute in nation building.”

Recently, Indian Railways exercised an option in the original contract that will require JSPL to supply an additional 30,000t of rails. The order increases the total size by more than 30%.

JSPL joint MD Naushad Akhter Ansari said: “These achievements are testament to the capability of our team, as well as our valued partnership with the Indian Railways.
