Indian Railways has launched an information portal that brings key details from various sources on a single dashboard in order to promote transparency and accountability.
The portal was launched by Union Minister of Railways Piyush Goyal and has been called Rail Drishti.

Accessible through desktop/laptop or a mobile device, it offers information in 15 categories.
In the ‘At a Glance’ section, users can visit the portal for information related to passenger reservation, unreserved ticketing, freight earnings and freight loading.
The ‘Services’ section offers access to PNR enquiry, ODC application enquiry, complaint enquiry, tender enquiry, shramik enquiry and freight related enquiries.
The Rail Drishti portal also has a ‘Trains on Run’ feature that enables passengers to track any train on the Indian Railways network. Additionally, they can receive information about any train, as well as the contact number for housekeeping staff.

Furthermore, the section displays the number of grievances resolved and pending.
Rail Drishti features the ‘Sugam, The Freight App’, which information on freight business. Customers can track their consignment and receive information on various terminals and associated nodal officers, prevailing freight rates among others.
Visitors to the portal can also view the progress on major initiatives undertaken by Indian Railways through the Station Images category, while the Heritage section exhibits the cultural aspect of travel.
The remaining sections in the Rail Drishti portal are IRCTC Kitchens, achievements, Shramik Kalyan, bills, freight earnings, freight loading/unloading, passenger earnings and expenditure.
