UK’s HS2 and Network Rail have selected Lendlease to lead the planning and development of the wider Euston station region in London.
Lendlease has been selected as the Master Development Partner (MDP) as part of a deal that will involve the company working with the Greater London Authority and London Borough of Camden to develop a master plan for the 54-hectare site.

The development will see the number of seats out of Euston doubled during peak hours once HS2 operations are commenced in order to provide the necessary additional capacity.
The refurbishment of the station area is also expected to provide an opportunity to improve accessibility, open up the station to the surrounding communities and create new access routes.
HS2 estimates that the station development could unlock up to 1,700 new homes and 19,000 jobs in the region.

Euston was originally open in 1837 as one of the first inter-city stations in London.
It was later rebuilt in the early sixties and now serves more than 42 million passengers annually.
The new HS2 station project includes a new interchange with the London Underground that will combine Euston and Euston Square.
The project also includes a provision for connection to a potential Crossrail 2 at a future date.
HS2 recently shortlisted bidders for the station’s construction and appointed Engineers Ove Arup & Partners, with Grimshaw Architects, to advance with the design works.
The main construction phase of the station is expected to begin in 2019.
