FST Biometrics has completed the deployment of the In Motion Identification (IMID) solution integrated with Automatic Systems’ SmartLane turnstiles at CN Rail’s headquarters in Montreal, Canada.

The company has integrated the same system at the entrance of the corporate child daycare centre, in addition to installing the contactless system at all perimeter access points.

The new technology comprises FST’s IMID software and Automatic Systems’ SmartLane turnstiles and is intended to provide instantaneous access to CN Rail’s 3,000 employees and contractors, as well as visitors in certain cases.

IMID Access is able to instantly identify every authorised individual following their registration, thereby enabling users to enter and exit the facility without being required to swipe a card, enter a code or present any documentation.

“The accurate, frictionless and convenient nature of our in-motion identification solution were an excellent fit to meet CN’s identification and secure access needs.”

FST Biometrics CMO Arie Melamed said: “The accurate, frictionless and convenient nature of our in-motion identification solution were an excellent fit to meet CN’s identification and secure access needs.

“We are pleased that a global transportation leader has implemented our system at the headquarters of its operations.

“We look forward to developing this relationship further in the future.”

The project’s implementation and integration process was conducted under Canadian integrator Infynia Security.

The new technology utilises Automatic Systems’ SmartLane optical turnstiles as the physical access component along with IMID in order to prevent tailgating and ensure the smooth movement of foot traffic.

FST’s IMID solutions have already been implemented at multiple sites such as large office buildings, residential complexes and pharmaceutical companies, as well as high-security trade and production facilities.
