Chengdu Railway has awarded contracts to Alstom and its joint venture (JV) companies SATEE and CASCO for the supply of metro cars and a communication-based train control (CBTC) signalling system.

Alstom is set to provide traction systems for 200 metro cars under the initiative, as well as install CBTC signalling systems along phase I of Chengdu metro line 9, spanning a total distance of 22km.

The cumulative value of the two contracts is €64m ($76.47m).

China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) has awarded a deal to AECOM to offer site supervision services for the ongoing East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project.

"China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) has awarded a deal to AECOM to offer site supervision services for the ongoing East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project."

The arrangement will see AECOM supervise the construction of tunnels, stations and other infrastructure related to the project.

The initiative is intended to increase connectivity between Kuala Lumpur and the East Coast Region in Malaysia.

MyHSR has awarded a social impact assessment (SIA) contract for the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High Speed Rail (KL-SG HSR) project to ERE Consulting Group.

ERE is expected to assess the project’s potential social effect on the country as part of the deal.

The study is intended to aid the development of the project in compliance with government regulations.

The tender process for the contract initially began in November 2017.

ERE Consulting will also formulate mitigation measures to reduce any potential social impact identified in the research.
