The company has configured the trains delivered for the CEVA line according to the characteristics of the line. It has equipped each 72m-long train with 204 seats and capable of running at a speed of up to 140km/h.

The trains are designed for cross-border links with European Railway Traffic Management System (ERTMS). They can operate on three types of network voltages.

Featuring the Atlas ETCS Baseline 3 on-board signalling solution, the trains offer safe and smooth travel throughout the journey.

The Coradia Polyvalent Léman Express trains feature low floors and seven doors on each side. This helps ensure smooth passenger flows and reduce station stoppage times.

They also adhere to the PRM-TSI standard, which is a technical specification for interoperability for passengers with reduced mobility.

Alstom has fitted all seats inside the train with individual reading lights and electrical sockets, as well as dedicated bicycle and luggage areas.

Alstom France president Jean-Baptiste Eyméoud said: “We are proud to be travelling for the first time on board the Léman Express version of our regional train, Coradia Polyvalent.

“This event marks the operational launch of our Baseline 3 digital solution ensuring the increase of traffic capacity between the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes French Region and the Geneva Canton in Switzerland.

“I am sure that this day is one of many for the future of Europe and a necessary increase in rail connections between countries.”
