EBI Link wayside equipment is a range of components, including balises, that provide automatic train protection (ATP) for main line and mass transit systems. EBI Link operates in conjunction with the on-board ATP computer, giving drivers speed information and details about approaching target objects such as signals or points.
Balises provide either fixed or variable data from track to train and are European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS) compliant. The balise is activated by an antenna mounted under a passing train, thus avoiding the need for a power supply to the balise.
EBI Link equipment has been developed for low lifecycle costs. Designed to last for 30 years in the field without preventative maintenance, it is cost-effective to install and maintain. The system comprises tried and tested modules, which means that it can be easily upgraded and adapted to our customers’ requirements.
EBI Link 2000 / Balises, encoder and PTE 2000
EBI Link 2000 automatic train control (ATC) wayside equipment is Bombardier Transportation´s range of wayside components for ATP systems. EBI Link 2000 equipment is ERTMS / European Train Control System (ETCS) compliant. It operates in conjunction with the ETCS on-board ATP system, transmitting movement authority and infrastructure data on trains at high speed. EBI Link 2000 is used for both main line and mass transit applications.
EBI Link 2000 has been upgraded for high-speed trains to meet the demanding functional and safety requirements (Safety Integrity Level 4) for ERTMS/ETCS operations. The EBI Link system is compliant with CENELEC standards, ensuring passenger and train operator safety at all times.
EBI Link 900 / Balises, encoder and PTE 2000
Bombardier Transportation offers the EBI Link 900 ATC range of wayside components for ATP systems. EBI Link 900 operates jointly with the onboard ATP system, transmitting infrastructure and movement authority data on high-speed trains. EBI Link 900 is used for both mass transit and main line applications.
EBI Link 700 / Balises, encoders and PTE 2000
The EBI Link 700 ATC wayside equipment encompasses a variety of wayside components for ATP systems. The onboard ATP system operates in conjunction with EBI Link 700, transmitting movement authority and infrastructure data on trains at high speed. EBI Link 700 is used on main lines.
