The Dutch hydrogen rolling stock project has ended after more than five years work.
The new trains are scheduled to replace a portion of SBB’s current international fleet over the course of the 2030s.
The facility is scheduled to open in phases, with completion expected by 2029.
The project entails the reconstruction of 24 stations and 13.2km of tram track.
Initial deliveries are planned for 2029, with Hamburger Rail Service designated as the first customer.
The Northampton facility will handle train upgrades, including seating, toilets, luggage storage, and charging ports.
