Independent train ticket retailer Trainline has partnered with WESTbahn in a bid to expand its services in Austria.
The collaboration will enable Trainline customers to book WESTbahn tickets through its portal, including special deals and offers.
WESTbahn CEO Dr Erich Forster said: “Trainline and WESTbahn share the goal of making rail more attractive.
“With our focus on international travellers, Trainline is our ideal partner. Our approach of offering rail journeys with a great quality service and Trainline’s philosophy of simplifying cross-border ticket booking for many different rail operators complement each other perfectly.”
The partnership will also provide new possibilities for cross-border journeys, as passengers can combine WESTbahn tickets with those issued by other rail operators.
Trainline International general manager Daniel Beutler said: “WESTbahn’s philosophy is to offer the best possible service at a low price.

All WESTbahn trains are equipped with free Wi-Fi and tickets are valid for a whole year, offering flexibility to travellers.
Trainline will enable WESTbahn to issue tickets in mobile form in order to eliminate the need to print out physical copies, as well as allowing customers to book and combine tickets for 86 different rail operators across 24 European countries.
