Public transport operator Prasarana has completed the pre-qualification stage of competitive tendering for the 37km light-rail transit line 3 (LRT3) project.
This initial phase of pre-qualification identified 96 out of 124 applicants as potential tenderers, which met the evaluation criteria.
In order to qualify for the infrastructure and systems package, applicants were evaluated based on their individual company structure, financial information, experience, and project implementation structure.
Prasarana president and group CEO Dato’ Azmi Abdul Aziz said: "Pre-qualification is no guarantee of work and it is the responsibility of tenderers to ensure that all of the documents submitted are true, accurate, legitimate, and complete as per requirements stated in the tender document.
"If any information is found to the contrary, Prasarana reserves the right to disqualify the applicants."
Prasarana and partner MRCB George Kent (MRCB GK) will now start the tendering process for the LRT3, which will extend connectivity to the western corridor of Greater Kuala Lumpur and Klang Valley.
