Eurostar deploys DELMIA Quintiq to boost operational efficiency

British high-speed rail operator Eurostar will deploy Dassault Systèmes’ DELMIA Quintiq applications to increase train frequency and provide improved travel experience to passengers.

British high-speed rail operator Eurostar will deploy Dassault Systèmes’ DELMIA Quintiq applications to increase train frequency and provide improved travel experience to passengers.

Powered by the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, the DELMIA Quintiq applications will also help the rail operator to optimise its resource and maintenance planning.

Eurostar, whose high-speed trains connect London, Paris, Brussels, Rotterdam and Amsterdam through the Channel Tunnel, transported 10.3 million passengers in 2017.

Eurostar train services and performance director Philippe Dabancourt said: “We needed a solution that could plan across all time horizons and be configured for multiple sets of rules and regulations.

“We needed a solution that could plan across all time horizons and be configured for multiple sets of rules and regulations.”

“It also had to be something that our planners, both in rostering and maintenance, could use intuitively, so support of multiple languages and different time zones was crucial.”

Dassault Systèmes, along with its partner Ordina, charted a two-part solution to help Eurostar.

Once the DELMIA Quintiq solution is integrated with Eurostar’s existing systems, it will enable the train operator to optimise planning for train drivers, managers and control room staff in three countries across Europe.

The solution, which will be hosted on the cloud, will also help in streamlining the scheduling of detailed train maintenance plans across all time zones.

As a result, Eurostar will be able to reduce time spent on data entry or administrative work whilst improving its long-term planning capabilities and productivity.

Eurostar said that a user-friendly mobile app will maintain a consistent flow of communication among all its employees.
