Alstom has secured a contract from Östgötatrafiken to supply three additional Coradia Nordic trains to be added to the existing fleet of 15.

The four-car Coradia Nordic train will be a length of 74m and have a carrying capacity of 510 passengers. The trains are designed to run at a maximum speed of 160km/h.

The new trains will be constructed at Alstom’s site in Salzgitter, Germany, and will be delivered by spring 2019.

A joint venture (JV) led by Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) has secured a Rs4.97bn ($76.9m) contract from Maharashtra Metro Rail (MMRCL) for the Pune metro rail project.

HCC holds a majority 51% stake in the JV, while the other partner is Al Fara’a.

As part of the contract, the JV will carry out the construction of nine elevated metro stations, including Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, Tukaram Nagar, Bhosari, Kasarwadi, Phugewadi, Dapoli, Bopodi, Khadki, and Range.

The JV will also undertake general and structural civil works of station buildings, as well as architectural and site development works.
