From 12-13 March, the 21st Annual Fire Protection of Rolling Stock 2024 conference is taking place in Milan, Italy, for the first time.

The conference brings together some of the leading rolling stock manufacturers and operators from around the world, along with component and material suppliers, for two days of panels, talks, discussions, and presentations from industry experts. This year, key topics of discussion will include hydrogen and lithium batteries, rolling stock sustainability, and Italy’s view on passive fire protection. The conference provides the ideal opportunity for networking, sharing knowledge, discussing the latest rolling stock trends, and improving fire protection within the industry. With over 20 speakers and more than 150 attendees, Fire Protection of Rolling Stock is one of Europe’s leading rolling stock conferences focused on innovation, safety, maintenance, and regulation.

This year, ISE will be attending the conference as a sponsor and will present its integrated approach to rail fire protection, which includes safe alarm routing and fire reaction strategy management. On Tuesday 12th March at 1pm, ISE founder and sales and marketing manager Andrea Cremoncini will be giving a presentation on ‘Integrated Fire Protection and Safety Systems in Rolling Stock’. This talk will discuss important topics, such as the importance of fire protection for transport systems, new standards for new generation fire systems for rolling stock, the SDTv2 safety layer, and the importance of IEC 61375 standards. With a master’s degree in physics and an extensive technical background, Cremoncini is an expert in rail fire protection and has over 40 years of experience in the industry.
