Four underground railway lines are being constructed on a total length of 172km in Doha, Qatar, in the scope of phase 1 of the Doha Metro project.
Rail instead of road transport projects enable a faster and more effective means of transporting container goods from the factory to the railway via freight vehicle without transaction at a terminal.
The new extension of the underground railway line U1 started operation with five new stations on 2 September 2017.
